Making Time for “Me Time”
Around this time of year, people are making New Year’s Resolutions or setting their intentions for the coming year. While I don’t specifically set out to do this, I am mindful of some changes I’d like to make and some good habits from the past year that I want to keep up. One of those that is particularly important to me is carving out some “me time” amidst the chaos that is life with young kids.
I started making more of an effort to do this last year when I realized how much of a difference it made on my attitude and stress levels. Taking even an hour to myself, completely away from work, kids, chores – everything, meant I was happier, had more patience, was more focused with my work and enjoyed my time with my kids more. That one little hour made a world of difference!
How I spend my “me time” varies; a walk in the forest, curling up with a favourite show on Netflix, or spending some time with my long neglected piano. By far my favourite “me time” indulgence is a steaming hot bubble bath, with a good book, a glass of wine and a little treat.
My latest “me time” indulgences have included pampering my hair with Garnier Whole Blends Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner in Coconut Water & Vanilla Milk. These products are paraben free, contain natural extracts and use gentle sulfates. Each blend focuses on a unique hair action, mine being “quenches and softens” and boy does it ever! My typical hair routine involves adding some sort of product after blow drying to ease fly aways and smooth everything out, and since I’ve started using Garnier Whole Blends, I’ve had no need to use anything else! My hair is simply soft and smooth right out of the shower, which is a big deal for this mom on the go.
If you are looking for a more natural way to pamper yourself, add Garnier Whole Blends to your “me time” routine. You can get your sample today! You can also join the upcoming Twitter party #WholeBlends on February 4, 2016 at 7 PM EST.
