We recently celebrated my daughter’s 6 1/2 birthday. It’s a long story (you can read…
Most people have heard of the French Yogurt Cake made famous in the book Bringing Up Bébé by Pamela Druckerman. I had always wanted to get my kids involved in this simple intro to baking, but it wasn’t until I started working on a new blog ~ Creative Sides ~ with a partner that I ever got around to doing it.
My blog partner is married to a Frenchman, and this yogurt cake is the first thing that French children learn to make themselves. It calls for an individual serving size cup of yogurt, and all of the ingredients afterwards are measured by the number of yogurt cups needed. It’s the perfect starter recipe to encourage kids’ independence. My girls had so much fun making it, and were super proud of the finished result!

My girls are big fans of Olympic Dairy products, and the individual sized Krema Greek Style Thick & Rich Yogurt cups were perfect for using in the French Yogurt Cake Recipe. They also take them in their lunch or grab them out of the fridge for breakfast or an after-school snack. We often have the Olympic Organic Probiotic Vanilla Yogurt on hand, and they were super excited to try out the brand new and refreshingly smooth Olympic Vanilla Kefir. You can also find this product in plain or strawberry flavour. For those of you who have never tried it, Kefir is a probiotic, fermented milk that contains 2 billion probiotics (per 250 ml) and is great for a healthy digestive flora. Olympic Kefir is organic, contains 10 different bacterial cultures and is low fat with only 1% M.F.
My kids like the products because they taste good, I like them because not only are they super healthy but they are also made locally, right here in Delta B.C. with 100% natural ingredients. They can have the product go from milk to finished on the store shelves in 48 hours. Amazing!
Now I know you’re all dying to try Olympic Dairy products yourselves, so you can learn more PLUS see all the great farm-to-table recipes here.
